Melatonin is mainly an amine hormone produced by the pineal gland in mammals and humans generated. Human pineal gland is attached to the rear wall of the third ventricle, the granular size of the bean tissue. There are also reports of mammalian retina and lacrimal glands can also produce a small amount of melatonin; certain cold-blooded animal eyes, brain and skin (such as frogs) and certain algae can also synthesize melatonin. It has to promote sleep, adjust the time difference, anti-aging, immune regulation, anti-tumor and many other physiological functions.
