Importance and safety of L-carnitine
L-carnitine, an amino acid, belongs to the quaternary ammonium cation complex, which can be synthesized from lysine and methionine by biosynthetic methods.

Carnitine exists in two stereoisomers: the biologically active L-carnitine, and its inactive enantiomer D-carnitine. Compounds that are chemically synthesized and contain both L and D carnitines are generally labeled in the form of "DL-carnitine".

In biological cells, L-carnitine is necessary for the transport of fatty acids from the cytosol to mitochondria when fat is metabolized to produce energy, preventing the accumulation of fatty acids in cells. Around the world, L-carnitine is often packaged and sold as a nutritional supplement with claims to help burn fat and aid in weight loss.

Importance of L-Carnitine

L-carnitine is a key substance in the process of fat metabolism, which can promote the oxidative decomposition of fatty acids into mitochondria. It can be said that carnitine is a carrier for the transport of fatty acids. During prolonged high-intensity exercise, carnitine increases the rate of fat oxidation, reduces glycogen consumption, and delays fatigue.
At present, people have applied carnitine to lose weight in the general public, reduce fat and resist fatigue in competitive athletes. After years of observation, the effect is remarkable. In the 1980 Olympic Games, Italian endurance athletes generally took L-carnitine and achieved good results.

Safety of L-Carnitine

In 1984, it was clear that L-carnitine is a very important nutritional agent, very safe, and it is also added in infant formula. The only caveat to taking L-carnitine is: taking it too late in the night may cause your energy to be too high and sleep disturbed.

Taking too much L-carnitine can cause mild diarrhea in some people. In general L-carnitine weight loss products, some people may experience slight dizziness and thirst after taking it for the first time.
